It’s use is suggested as a supplement to a regular, balanced fertilizer program to enhance yields and improve overall quality. 72% of the total nitrogen in this product is in the slow release form, this allows the nitrogen release to be matched with the crops needs.

PRODUCT ADVANTAGES:
• Foliar or soil applied
• Contains 28% total nitrogen of which 72% is slowly available
• Very low salt index
• Excellent storability
• Non burning
• Non corrosive
• May be mixed with other fertilizers

Maximizing Phosphorus Efficiency: An Introduction

The availability of phosphorus is critical during early growth to get corn off to a quick and healthy start because phosphorus:

•Needs to be available by the V6 growth stage for maximum yield potential

•Is needed for strong root development

•Encourages early plant growth for longer grower seasons (drier corn at harvest)

The final grain yield is influenced by tissue phosphorus concentration prior to the V6 growth stage, regardless of the phosphorus supply at later stages!

Alpine Opens New Plant

BELLE PLAINE, SASKATCHEWAN - August 4, 2010 - With over 200 people in attendance, Alpine Plant Foods [www.alpineplantfoods.com] officially opened their new production facility in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan today.

The new eight million dollar production facility has a capacity of 700,000 litres per day of liquid phosphate fertilizer for Western Canada growers. Although Alpine has been servicing farmers in Western Canada for over a decade, this new plant is a result of growing demand for starter fertilizer in Western Canada.

Benefits for the Western grower of this new plant include not only reduced shipping costs but also a quicker turnaround time for delivery.

In business for more than 30 years, it has only been in the last 10 years that Alpine has been focusing on Western Canada. “Ever since we started focusing on Western Canada we knew we needed to open a plant out here, not only to show our commitment but also for logistical reasons for the grower. Its great to finally see it open,” said Neil Dolson, President, Alpine Plant Foods. Located in the Moose Jaw – Regina industrial corridor, this new plant has access to both CPR and CN railways and the Trans Canada highway for easy distribution to dealers and delivery of raw materials.

Alpine's liquid phosphate fertilizer is a great fit for the Western grower. “Our product provides phosphate which is not always readily available in the cold, dry conditions found in the province,” says Terry Good, Western Canada Sales Manager for Alpine. And with the product being in a liquid form, the fertilizer works faster than dry phosphate. “A dry phosphate needs to breakdown and become available through the grounds soil” Good explained. “Our product is already in a simple, soluble solution, so it's immediately useable by the plant.”
